What custom means at our bench
A custom order here is not a dropdown menu with three palette options. It is a short conversation (who the flowers are for, what they are like, what the moment needs) followed by a bouquet that could not belong to anyone else. We have made flowers for a marriage proposal on a fishing charter, a 90th birthday where the only brief was "she hates pink", and a Tuesday apology that needed to land before 4pm.
Every bouquet is built from stems cut within a day or two at eleven small Waitaki growers. If your brief needs something out of season, we say so and show you the closest thing that actually looks good. You see a photo of the finished piece before it leaves the studio, so the approval is yours, not ours.

Your bouquet is made by a person
Most custom orders land on Ren's bench, six years of studio work and a decade of market stalls before that. Mags takes the sculptural and event-leaning briefs. Either way, the florist who talks to you is the florist who builds it. That is the whole point of staying small.
Want a specific maker? Ask. Otherwise we route briefs to whoever is best for the job, which is how a wedding ends up with Ren and a 6-metre table runner ends up with Mags.
